The catalyst for this essay was an exchange the author experienced the day of this writing. A reporter on a news program asked a person if it was ok that Charlie Kirk was murdered.

I immediately thought, “Why would a reporter ask such a question?”. Then when the answer came, I was shaken to the core.

​

The person replied, “Of course, he was a raciest.” After answering the question, the person continued to look at the reporter, slightly nodding, with an expression that implied his answer was obvious and appropriate.

​

The person responding would be described as “Black”, using today’s race-based vernacular, likely justifying his condoning murder based of his perceived injustice inflicted on he and his fellow “Black” people.

​

This, however, is a broad social affliction extending throughout all perceived ‘races’ and levels of American society. There is no single ‘type’ of potential perpetrator. This social malignancy is incited by politics, race-baiters, activist educators along with a number of social and mental issues.

​

Earlier, there was a report of a person running to become Virginia’s Attorney General having published text messages calling for the death of his political opponent and 'hoped his children would die'. I found the report hard to believe, but seemingly indicative of the severity of the problem.

​

Suddenly the full realization of a deadly social schism existing in America today overwhelmed me… assassinations, school shootings, rampant lawlessness, pestilent political conflict…a growing intransigent social schism seeming to be building toward an increasing crescendo toward terminal civil strife.

​

A question I had never considered before came to mind: 

“Is it too late?”

 

“Will America become a nation of pervasive civil discord in perpetual decline from within?”

​

Prior, I had been somewhat preoccupied with the concern that our adversaries abroad might take advantage of America’s social division. Now I realized that the admonition that “A house divided cannot stand” might be prophetic.

 

So…with a sense of increased urgency, I am adding this essay to this website.

​

History teaches and predicts that “Decline” is an inherent threat to any nation. I recall reading “The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire” and coming to understand that the destruction was caused as much from internal reasons that contributed to the vulnerability of the Empire, as was the external forces.

 

Up to this point, I have been writing with the hope and intention of helping to promote the end of social division based on perceived “Racial” differences and resentments.

Now, in adding this essay to this website, I urge my readers to not only abandon the divisive use of racial identity and designation for yourself and other Americans, I also urge you to desist in accepting radical, destructive and lawless behavior from any other citizen.

​

We must support and encourage our law enforcement personnel and agencies to follow the dictates of their responsibilities to enforce the law and dissuade those who refuse to abide by the laws of our communities and nation.

​

It begins with a personal commitment to require family and community members to abide by and practice the rules of conduct and extending to all segments of our nation. Any abhorrent or lawless behavior from any citizen or citizens should not be tolerated and the appropriate legal response should be immediate and rehibilitating.

​

Social decorum and respect for social order are essential for the welfare and stability of any nation. Only then can America continue to enjoy prosperity and status as a truly free and stable nation.

The way forward is simple…abide by the law and insist that all other citizens do the same to continue to experience and enjoy the full benefits of an American Citizen
