It’s Time To Put
The Race Card Away.
It Is No Longer Needed.
It Is Now Holding
Many Americans With
African Heritage Back.
Americans with African heritage have long struggled to be fully enfranchised American citizens. Today that opportunity is well withing their grasp. The anthem “Free at Last” can now be a reality.
All that is required is to abandon being “Black”, breaking free of the shackles of the past and joining the Americans who together embrace Individual Freedom and responsibility as American Citizens.
When Americans with African heritage remove the false barrier of race and resentment, they will find a “colorless” society of American Citizens that are eager to welcome them into their midst.
It is mostly a matter of attitude and expectation. Those expecting and projecting congeniality and esteem with likely receive it in return from a majority of Americans. A brief study of our individual DNA will testify to our “mixed” nature as a people.
Certainly, on both sides of the issue, there will be opposition and dissenters who will seek to fester the division of citizens through race baiting and accusation; however, they will only remain to suffer in the quagmire of their own hatred and despair.
As for the past, from George Washington who noted, “I can only say that there is not a man living who wishes more sincerely than I do to see a plan adopted for the abolition of slavery” to the Abolitionist in early America who opposed slavery and even gave their lives in the effort, and thru the ratification of the 13th Amendment of the Constitution in 1865 until today; there are a majority of American Citizens who have kept moving forward with the principal that all humans “are created equal” and that Individual Freedom is sacred. They joyfully await today the arrival of our brother and sisters who have finally emerged as fellow American Citizens.
Our Nation will prosper and grow stronger with our increasing Unity as truly Free Citizens.
A Personal Note
This Article and this website were developed because of my personal experience.
Having seen my so called “Native American” father emerge from resentment and the focus on the past to looking forward and grasping the opportunity of a future as an American Citizen… and today my having shared in the benefits of his efforts, I hope all American Citizens can join together now to appreciate our potential together as a Nation and unite in defending our Country together as we face the challenges ahead.
